Is Week 1 Too Early for PCB Spring Break?

Week 1 of PCB spring break — February 27 to March 5, 2027 — is the week nobody talks about. Two seasons of ticket data show it’s a fraction of the size of Weeks 2 and 3. Here’s whether that makes it a bad week or a secret.

What Week 1 is

The opening week. Events run, venues are open, the season calendar starts. But most of the big schools haven’t broken yet, so the crowd is a mix of early-break campuses (often Midwest and some Texas and Oklahoma schools) and people who came for the beach and the price.

The upside

• Lodging. The best availability and the easiest booking of the season. Walkable club-district units that are gone by October for Week 3 can still be had for Week 1 in January.
• No lines. Venues have room. Boats have slots. Rideshares arrive.
• Beach space. You can spread out at noon on the central beach.

The downside

• Weather. The coolest week, with the highest odds of a cold front. The weather post.
• Crowd. If “everyone’s here” is the point, they aren’t yet.
• Lineup. The theme-party rotation runs, but headliner nights and specials cluster later in the month.

Who Week 1 is right for

• Schools that break the first week of March. You don’t have a choice, and it’s a good week.
• Groups that want the beach and the boats more than the clubs.
• Groups that are booking late and want a real shot at a good property.
• Anyone under 21 — the all-ages and daytime side of the week is the same, and the beach is calmer.

The verdict

Not too early. Different. If your break falls here, plan around the weather, book the water stuff for the warmest day, and enjoy the version of PCB where you can get a table. If you have a choice and want the peak, that’s a different week.
