ECP Airport Guide for Spring Breakers

If you’re flying, you’re landing at Northwest Florida Beaches International — ECP. Here’s the quick guide.

The airport

Small, modern, and easy. One terminal, short walks, fast security on most days. It sits about half an hour north of the beach. Major carriers serve it with more seats added for spring break, but peak-week fares climb fast — book by January.

Getting to the beach

• Rental car. Easiest for the week if your group is split across properties or you want the marina and grocery runs. Reserve ahead; peak-week fleets run out.
• Rideshare. Uber and Lyft pick up at ECP. Fine for a pair with light bags; expect a wait after a big arrival bank.
• Shuttle. Shared shuttles and private transfers operate seasonally; book in advance and confirm the pickup point.
• A friend who drove. The hybrid plan: the drivers pick up the flyers. Coordinate arrival times.

Timing

Weeks run Saturday to Friday, and most lodging turns over Saturday. Fly in Saturday morning, out Saturday. If you fly in Friday night, sort a place to sleep before your condo check-in. The calendar.

Mistakes to avoid

• Assuming rideshares are instant at 11 p.m. on a Saturday in March.
• Checking a bag full of things Pier Park sells. Pack light.
• Booking the rental car after the flight.
• Forgetting the ID you’ll need at every door all week is the same one you need at the airport. Don’t lose it.

Leaving

Saturday morning departures out of ECP in March are busy. Give yourself the time, return the rental with a full tank, and eat before security.
