What Florida law says

Possessing or using a fake or altered ID in Florida can be charged as a felony. Not a fine, not a warning — a charge that follows you. Using someone else’s real ID is also a crime. This isn’t a scare line; it’s the statute, and Bay County enforces it during spring break.

What PCB door staff actually do

They see thousands of IDs a week in March. They know what every state’s license looks like, they use scanners, and they’ve caught every trick you’ve read about. The common outcomes when a fake is spotted:

• The ID is confiscated. You’re not getting it back.
• You’re refused entry — for the night, and often for the week at that venue.
• Police may be involved. During spring break there are officers near the big venues; it’s a short walk.

What it costs you

Best case: a wasted night and a wasted card. Worst case: an arrest, a court date in Florida after you’ve gone home, a lawyer, and a record that shows up on background checks for jobs and grad school. The math doesn’t work.
